About WB Student Credit Card Scheme 2024
The student credit scheme has been approved under the state cabinet meeting on Thursday in the West Bengal state. This scheme was a promise by the Chief Minister of West Bengal state Mamta Banerjee in her election manifesto. The West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme will be launched in the West Bengal State on 30th June 2023. The students from Class 10th or above will be able to get a soft loan of up to Rupees 10 lakh with very low interest so that they can continue their higher studies with the help of this credit card scheme. 15 years will be given to the students so that they can repay their loans.

Launched Of WB Student Credit Card Scheme On 30th June 2021
As we all know a new scheme has been created by the government of West Bengal to provide loans to the students for their further education. Under the WB Student Credit Card Scheme, the government will provide a Rs. 10 lakh loan for further education in India or abroad. The government of West Bengal launched this scheme on 30th June 2021. Now the student will be able to take out a loan for their education. This scheme is one of the pole promises that has been made by the current Chief Minister during the Assembly election.
WB Student Credit Card Scheme Interest Rate
To provide hassle-free and collateral-free loans to students, the government of West Bengal has created a new scheme known as Student Credit Card Scheme. The government under the scheme is providing the loan with 4% of nominal interest. This loan is without any security or collateral interest. The repayment period of this loan is near about 15 years. The student will be able to use this loan for expenses like rent, hostel fees, study tools, projects, etc.
Objective Of WB Student Credit Card Scheme
The objective of this scheme is very simple, the Government of the West Bengal state has started this credit card scheme for students studying in Class 10th or above. West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme will help them to take loans from the Government with low interest and then continue their higher studies without any problem with financial funds. The students will be able to continue their studies and get a professional career without getting abruptly due to their weak financial background. Students will be able to take the loan by following a very simple loan-taking procedure. You will be eligible for this scheme till the time you reach the age of 40 years plus 15 years will be provided to each beneficiary so that they can repay the loan.
