A new scheme has been created by the government of Punjab to provide scholarship certificates among the beneficiaries of Schedule Caste. Under this scheme, the students belonging to the scheduled caste will be able to get free higher education for a better future. The government will provide a 100% fee waiver for the scheduled caste student under Dr. BR Ambedkar Post Matric SC Scholarship Scheme. The scheduled caste students will be able to continue their education without thinking about any financial hurdles. No contribution will be made by the central government under this scheme. Also, the student will be able to get a subsidy from the state government with a free education facility.

Objective Of The Dr. Ambedkar Post Matric SC Scholarship
As we all know many SC category Dalit Community students are not able to complete their studies due to financial crisis. According to this situation, the main object of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the SC category students who are studying at the matriculation or post-secondary stage to allow them to complete their studies and get their future in shape. This scheme will benefit over 3 lakh SC students every year and they will not be required to pay any fees to the government or private Institutions.

New Ram Tirath ITI
Along with the post-matric scholarship scheme, the Chief Minister of the state also inaugurated a new Ram Tirath ITI institute. This institute will help the Dalit students of the state to prepare for competitive exams. In addition to these two opportunities, he also announced an annual holiday under the Negotiable Instrument Act in remembrance of Maharishi Valmiki.
Budget of the Scheme
Dr. BR Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship has been launched with a budget of rupees 50 crores to mark an auspicious occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti. Along with this the chief minister also includes a panorama on Maharishi Valmiki of rupees 25 to 30 crore, Facade lights of rupees 10.9 crores, filtration plant in Sarovar of rupees 4.75 crores, furniture for the Sarai of rupees 2 crores,s and construction of a parikrama of rupees 1.3 crores.
