The budget was submitted to the state legislature on 20th March 2023 under which this scheme was named by the organization and it will be introduced in the next fiscal year. This new scheme was created by the Tamil Nadu government to provide proper opportunities to the people who want to start their businesses in the Tamil Nadu State but do not have the proper resources to continue their business or do not have the capital to develop their business. People will be able to apply for the scheme according to the details mentioned in the budget speech which was recently made by the organization. People will be provided with a capital subsidy of 35% and an interest subsidy of 6% for loans which will be used to buy machinery and equipment to start a business in the Tamil Nadu State. Features Of The Scheme
- The main objective of the scheme is to support the people who are coming from scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities.
- 100 crore rupees have been allocated to implement the annual Ambedkar Business Champion Scheme 2024.
- 35% capital subsidy up to rupees 1.5 crores and a 6% interest subsidy on loans will be provided to the beneficiaries.
- The working capital will be eligible for interest subvention for a maximum of 2 years.
- Basic training will be provided to the beneficiary through the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute.
- The capital subsidy will be available for the full project cost, including investments in land (up to 20% of the total project cost), equipment, and machinery, according to the government’s requirements.
- A retired banker will be chosen to serve as the credit mentor for each district and a State-level steering committee will be established to oversee the program’s operation every quarter.
