The central registrar of the cooperative society has launched a portal called the Sahara refund portal. This portal was launched on 18 July 2023 by Union Minister Amit Shah in order to help those investors who have invested in the chit fund of Sahara. The government has launched CRCS Sahara Refund and requested the security exchange Board of India to return the money of the investor. Through CRCS Sahara the money will be directly credited into the bank account of the beneficiary.
- All those beneficiaries who want to take benefit of the Sahara India Refund portal are required to register in order to get the claim amount. In the first phase, the beneficiary will get a refund of Rs 10000 within 45 days of registration.
- In the second phase, the balance amount will be transferred into the bank account of the beneficiary. This money will be provided for all four societies which were led by the Sahara group.

Depositors of the following Sahara group cooperative societies are eligible for the claim:
- Hamara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited Kolkata
- Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited Lucknow
- Saharayn Universal Multipurpose Society Limited Bhopal
- Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited Hyderabad
The depositor must have made a deposit and have outstanding Deuce receivable before the following dates:
- March 22, 2022
- March 29, 2023

Procedure To Apply Under mocrefund.crcs.gov.in
- First of all you have to go to the official website of the Sahara refund portal
- The home page will appear on your screen
- On the home page, you are required to click on depositor registration
- After that a new page will appear on your screen
- On this page, you have to enter the last four digits of your Aadhaar number
- After that, you have to enter your Aadhar-linked mobile number
- Now you have to click on Get OTP
- After that you have to enter OTP into the OTP box
- Now you have to click on submit
- After that, you have to click on the depositor login
- Now you have to enter your login details and click on login
- A new page will appear on your screen
- On the page, you have to enter the details like first name, date of birth, father’s name, etc
- After that, you have to enter your email id and click on Save Email
- Now you have to click on next
- After that depositor is required to enter details displayed on the screen

- Once all the clams are entered you are required to click on generate prefilled claim request form

FAQs
A depositor needs to provide a membership number, deposit account number, Aadhar link mobile number, and deposit certificate. Pan details are only required when the claim is more than Rs 50,000
No deposit cannot file a claim request if he or she does not have an Aadhar-seeded bank account. The Aadhar seeding will facilitate secure fund transfer to the genuine deposit bank account.
Upon the successful submission of claim an acknowledgement number will be provided to the beneficiary and SMS will be send to the registered mobile number of the depositor for confirmation.
The beneficiary will get a refund amount of Rs 10000 within 45 days of successful claim submission. This amount will be directly credited into the bank account of the beneficiary.
