Eligibility Criteria
- Eligibility Criteria for Thalassemia
- The patient’s age must be 12 years or less
- The patient’s family income should be Rs. 8 lakhs per annum or less
- Clinical Criteria
- The patient must have transfusion-dependent Thalassemia
- The patient should have a 100% HLA-matched sibling donor (minimum matching ratio: 6/6)
- The patient must be other than Class IIIB patients, liver size of the patient to be less than 5 cm. below the coastal margin
- Eligibility Criteria for Thalassemia/MUD (matched unrelated donor):
- The patient’s age must be 12 years or less
- The patient’s family income should be Rs. 8 lakhs per annum or less
- Clinical Criteria
- The patient must have transfusion-dependent Thalassemia
- The patient should have 100% HLA matched from an unrelated donor
- The patient must be other than Class IIIB patients, liver size of the patient to be less than 5 cm below the coastal margin
- Eligibility Criteria for Aplastic Anemia:
- The patient’s age must be 12 years or less
- The patient’s family income should be Rs. 8 lakhs per annum or less
- Clinical Criteria
- The patient must have severe aplastic anaemia as documented by a bone marrow examination at one of the BMT centres
- Full 6/6 HLA matched related donor
- Necessary tests for ruling out inherited bone marrow failure syndromes are to be done
