About Delhi Nursery Admission
The Directorate of Education has taken a great initiative known as Delhi Nursery Admission for children below 5 years of age belonging to the economically weaker section and disadvantaged category. All interested parents who want to fill out an application form will have to visit the official website of the Directorate of Education or they can directly visit the school premises or the official website for an online application form filling. There are around 1800 private schools available in Delhi and the number of available seats has not yet been declared. The admissions are starting from 1st December 2022 and the last date to apply under this initiative is 31st March 2023.

Registration Under Delhi Nursery Admission Has Begun
To conduct admission smoothly for entry-level classes in the privately recognized school the Delhi government implements the Delhi nursery admission scheme. The government of Delhi has released the schedule for the Delhi nursery scheme for the year 2023-24. The admission process is starting on 28th November 2022 and it will continue till 17th March 2023. No deviation from the prescribed schedule will be permitted. All the schools are required to follow the admission schedule under this scheme. The recognized schools are required to reserve 25% of seats for economically weaker sections and for children with disability.

The schools are permitted to develop their eligibility criteria and follow the rules according to them. All the schools are required to ensure criteria-wise break up of points for all the applicants. The admission criteria should comply with the provision of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act. The schools are required to upload the points according to the criteria on their official website. Other than that schools require to upload the details of the children who admit and are on the waiting list.

Objective Of Delhi Nursery Admission

Age Criteria To Apply
This year children whose age is not more than five years can easily apply for nursery school admission in Delhi. While children the age of 6 years can easily apply for the KG class and the best students the age of 7 years can easily apply for admission in the 1st class. Eligibility Criteria
- An applicant must be a permanent resident of Delhi
- the age of the applicant for nursery or preschool is 3 to 5 years KG or primary is 4 to 6 years and class first is 5 to 7 years as of 31st March 2023
- The family income should not exceed more than 1 lakh
- He or she must belong to the economically weaker section or disadvantaged category

Some Important Details Regarding Delhi Nursery Admission
- All the private unaided recognized schools of Delhi are required to reserve 25% seats for the economically weaker sections and disability category
- The government has developed an online portal for applying under this scheme
- No school is permitted to process the admission in the economically weaker section or DG category manually
- The admission will be conducted through a draw which will be computerized
- The schools are required to upload the details of the children online
- The draw floats should be conducted fearfully and transparently in the presence of parents
