Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme:- To strengthen the rural economy through the empowerment of Gola and Kuruma communities the Government of Telangana has launched the Telangana sheep distribution scheme. Under this scheme, the shapes will be distributed to the beneficiaries on a 75% subsidy to The Gola and Korma cast to provide them financial support. About Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme
The chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of the Telangana state has launched this scheme to encourage the empowerment of backward communities by providing the unit of sheep on a 75% subsidy to the people belonging to the cast of Golla and Kurma. The first phase of the Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme was put on hold last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now the Chief Minister of Telangana state has instructed officials to resume the first phase of this scheme. Along with that, the funds for the second phase would soon be allocated to the budget. The main aim of launching the scheme is to provide support to the traditional shepherd communities by providing them with a unit of sheep. This step will bring strength to the rural economy
Objective Of Sheep Distribution Scheme
As we all know the community of Golla and Kurma is an economically weak community and due to this they face many problems in society. By keeping view of this the Telangana government has launched Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme. Under the scheme, the unit of sheets will be provided to both of the communities so that the rural economy will be strengthened. The main aim of launching this program is to empower the community both socially and economically.

Phase I Of the Sheep Distribution Scheme
The first phase of the sheep distribution scheme will start on 16 January 2021 at Nalgonda which was put on hold by the government of Telangana due to the coronavirus pandemic. Around 28,335 applicants have drawn necessary demand drafts. These applicants will receive the Sheep units of Rs. 360. The state government will provide sheep to eat and every eligible Beneficiary of the Golla Kurma community. And around Rs. 4210 crore would be set aside for the purpose in the upcoming state budget. Interested applicants who have applied under the first phase of the sheep distribution scheme and want to check their name in the beneficiary list will have to visit the official website for the process
Beneficiary Under Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme
There are 8,109 sheep producers societies across the entire state and around 7.61 lakh shepherds are the members of these societies. The main aim of launching this scheme is to empower them both financially and socially. The government has spent about Rs. 10,000 crore to help them. Nearly 3.66 lakh units of sheep have been distributed since the launch of the Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme at an expenditure of Rs. 4,579 crore. The data on the Sheep population is given below

Benefits & Features Of Telangana Sheep Distribution Scheme
- This scheme was launched by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on 20th June 2017.
- Under this scheme, the unit of ships will be provided to the beneficiaries of the Golla and Kurma community
- The government will provide 75% of the cost while the left 25% will be given by the beneficiary itself.
