The Government of Tamil Nadu has launched in Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme. Through this scheme, education will be provided to the students physically. The government is going to assign volunteers for every class and every subject. Through these volunteers, education will be provided to the students. Volunteers will impart education through door-to-door campaigns under this scheme. Those students who are not able to afford education will benefit from this scheme. The government is going to provide a salary of Rs 25000 per month to the volunteers. This Scheme has around 1 lakh students who will benefit. The government has registered 86550 people to work as volunteers under the scheme. Out of these students, 67691 are women, 32 are transgender and 18557 are men

Around 390 Students Benefited In Tiruchi District
Through Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme an interactive learning experience is provided to the students in the evening hours. A lot of students in Thayanur village in Tiruchi district are being benefited from this scheme. There are about 20 ITK centers in the Thayanoor village in the Manikandam block. Through these centers, nearly 390 students are being benefited. All those students who were struggling to write, read, or do calculations are coping well now. The centers are serving as an effective platform for the volunteers to ensure academic and multi-dimensional progress at the primary level. The volunteer also encourages its students to participate in cultural activities as well.
