About INSPIRE Scholarship 2024
Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) Scholarship has been launched in order to motivate students to pursue research in natural or basic sciences. All those meritorious students who are undertaking bachelor’s and master’s courses in natural and basic science can benefit from this scheme. The selected candidates will receive a scholarship of Rs 80000. Every year through the INSPIRE Scholarship scheme 10,000 scholarships are provided to students. The Department of science and Technology, Government of India will be responsible for implementing this Scholarship program. The benefits of this scholarship scheme can be availed for a maximum period of 5 years or till the completion of the course (whichever is earlier). This scheme has been launched to promote higher education among students.

Objective of INSPIRE Scholarship 2024
The main objective of this scholarship is to provide funds to students who are pursuing their bachelor’s and master’s in basic and natural sciences. Through the INSPIRE Scholarship scheme, all the students who are not able to pursue their education due to their poor financial condition will be able to get an education. Better career opportunities along with better grades will be achieved through this scholarship scheme. The financial gap between the students and their dreams of getting a higher education will be reduced through the INSPIRE Scholarship scheme.

Selection Procedure For INSPIRE Scholarship
- The Department of Science and Technology will be responsible for implementing Inspire scholarship
- The concerned department will go through the applications of all the selected students
- After that, a list will be prepared for the shortlisted students
- The list of all the shortlisted students will be displayed on the online portal of INSPIRE
- All the shortlisted students can download their provisional offer letter from the official website
- After that Shortlisted students need to upload all the necessary documents within the time limit
- The concerned department will verify the details of the shortlisted candidates
- After successful verification, the candidate will be selected
- After that, the benefit amount will be disbursed directly into the bank account of the beneficiaries through the direct benefit transfer method
Renewal Procedure Of INSPIRE Scholarship
- In the annual examination or 2 semesters, the student who is applying for renewal is required to score at least 60% marks or a 7.0 GPA on a 10.0 points scale
- If the student does not secure the required marks then the scholarship for that academic year will be canceled
- If the student’s academic performance becomes satisfactory in the next academic year then the scholarship will be resumed
Terms And Conditions Of INSPIRE Scholarship
- Selected students can avail of the benefit of the INSPIRE Scholarship for 5 years or until the completion of the course whichever is less
- Those candidates who are availing of any other kind of scholarship from any other source are not eligible to receive the benefit of this scheme
- All those students who are receiving the benefit of this scholarship scheme for the first time will get the scholarship amount after the approval of the performance report and mark sheet of the first year
- If it is found that the academic performance of the student is satisfactory then an amount of Rs 1,20,000 will be released during the candidate’s second year
- It is the responsibility of the head of the institution to mention in the performance report the continuity of scholarship in that academic year
- All the shortlisted candidates are required to submit their wise performance reports and mark sheets for the release of the scholarship
- Selected candidates are required to open a savings bank account in any branch of the State Bank of India only
- The account should be in the name of the applicant and it should not be a joint account
- At the time of applying the candidate is required to submit a complete application as all incomplete applications will be rejected

Eligibility Criteria Of INSPIRE Scholarship
- The age of the applicant must be between 17 to 22 years
- The candidate must be in the top 1% of successful students in terms of aggregate marks in his or her class twelfth board exam
- All those students who are Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, National Talent Search Examination, Olympiad medalist, and Jagdish Bose National Science Talent Search scholar and are pursuing courses in natural and basic sciences can also apply under this scheme
- Those students who are admitted to the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, National Institute of Science Education and Research, Department of Atomic Energy Center for basic sciences at the University of Mumbai to pursue courses in natural or basic sciences can also apply under this scheme
- Applicants who are in the top 10000 rankers in the joint entrance exam of IIT, AIEEE(top 20,000 rankers) and have cleared CBSE medical and opted for natural and basic science can also apply under this scheme
- In order to get the benefit of INSPIRE Scholarship scheme, the applicant should be enrolled in courses of natural or basic sciences at the BSc, BS, and integrated MSc or MSc level in the same year in which they have passed class 12th
