To provide various employment opportunities among the urban people, the Government of Odisha has launched Mukhyamantri Karma Tatpara Abhiyan. Under this initiative, sustainable livelihood opportunities will be provided to 4.5 lakh urban poor families. About Karma Tatpara Abhiyan (Mukta Yojana)
The government has launched Mukhyamantri Karma Tatpara Abhiyan to provide various sustainable livelihood opportunities to poor urban families to build the relative success of urban wage employment. This initiative was launched in April but was delayed due to the pandemic of covid-19. Now CM Naveen Patnaik plans to convert this scheme into a full-fledged scheme. This initiative will help up the informal workforce in 114 urban local bodies of the state. The Government of India has allocated Rs 100 for all labor-intensive projects in urban local bodies for providing temporary employment to the poor people of urban areas. Around Rs. 70 crores were spent around 13 lakh person days were generated and about 3.5 lakh workers participated in this initiative out of which 40% were women.

Objective Of the Abhiyan
As we all know there are not enough sustainable livelihood opportunities available for urban poor families and due to this, they face many problems. By keeping a view of this the government of Odisha has launched Mukhyamantri Karma Tatara Abhiyan. Under this scheme, various employment opportunities will be provided to the people of urban areas to create economic empowerment of the urban informal workers including the women of informal workers. it will also increase the involvement and the empowerment of self-help groups and slum Development associations. The wages of the worker under this scheme will directly be credited into the bank account of the beneficiary is with the help of the direct benefit transfer method
