About Karnataka Free Laptop Scheme
There are many students who are not able to afford to buy laptops due to poverty. But laptops nowadays have become an essential part of human life. Studies are also not possible without the internet. So the Government of Karnataka has launched a scheme called Free Laptop Scheme. Under this scheme, the poor and needy SC, ST, and OBC students will be provided with free laptops so that they can gain knowledge. This scheme is applicable to students who have passed class 12th. Around 1.09 lakh students will get free laptops under the scheme.

The benefits of the Free Laptop Scheme is listed below:-
- 1.09 lakh students will benefit from this scheme
- Laptop of around Rs 32,000 to Rs 35,000 will be provided for free
- Students can get the benefit of getting an education online because of the availability of laptops with them
- The computer knowledge and skills of the students will be enhanced
- Students who are poor and belong to SC, ST, or OBC categories will get benefit from this scheme

Eligibility Criteria
To get a free laptop under the Scheme following eligibility criteria have been decided by the Government of Karnataka:-
- The candidate should be a permanent resident of Karnataka state
- candidate must have passed class 12th with good grades
- The candidate must be studying in their first year of graduation
- The candidate’s family income should be less than 2.5 lakh annually
