What Is PMJAY CSC 2024?

Low-income Indians will receive free health insurance under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, a nationwide public health insurance programme managed by the Indian government. This programme benefits around half of the population. Under the programme, participants are permitted to get primary care from their family doctor. When necessary, PM-JAY provides free access to secondary care for people who require specialist therapy as well as tertiary care for those who require hospitalization. The means-tested programme is part of the Indian government’s National Health Policy. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare introduced it in September 2018. Later, the National Health Authority was established by that ministry to manage the initiative. The federal and state governments each contribute equally to the funding of this well-regarded initiative. It is the world’s largest government-sponsored healthcare system, serving a population of 50 crores (500 million).
