Objective Of Pragati Scholarship Scheme
As we all know there are many girls students who are not able to continue their studies due to some financial problem. And this results in the incomplete education of the girl students. Keeping this in mind the India Council for Technical Education has launched the Pragati scholarship scheme. With the implementation of this scheme, the girl’s students of the country will be able to continue their studies without thinking about any financial budget. This step is taken by the AICTE for women’s empowerment.

Incentive Amount
The list of incentive which will be provided to the students of the country through Pragati scholarship schemes are given below
- Rs. 30,000 tuition fee
- Rs. 2000 per month for 10 months as an incidental charge
- Rs. 30,000 as tuition fee waiver reimbursement for the purchase of Books, Equipment, Software, Laptop, Desktop, Vehicle and a Tuition fee for competitive exams/forms
- The scholarship is reserved for backward classes category such as 15% for SC, 7.5% ST, 27% for OBC

Selection Procedure
The selection of the girl Students for the Pragati scholarship will be made on the basis of merit for the last qualifying examination and the merit list prepared on the basis of marks scored in the last qualifying examination. The reservation quota will be determined by the government of the Indian norms.If any vacancy is available in the reserved category then the seat will be transferred to the general category itself.

There are some reservations given by the AICTE to the Students belonging to the category such as SC, ST and OBC. the percentage of the reservation is as follows
- OBC- 27%
- SC- 15%
- ST- 7.5%
Eligibility Criteria
- An applicant must be a girl child.
- the candidate should be pursuing a first year of a degree diploma course in any AICTE-approved Institution.
- Two girl children per family are eligible for this scheme
- The annual income of the family should not exceed 8 lakh.
- Selection of the student is made on a merit basis.

Points To Remember
- The passport-size photo and signature of the applicant must be uploaded in JPG or JPEG format.
- The size of a passport-size photograph should be not more than 200 KB for the signature.
- Only the first-year student can apply for this scholarship.
- The applicant must have a General savings bank account.
- The students under the management quota cannot apply for this scheme.
