About WB Chaa Sundari Scheme
This scheme was proposed by Amit Mitra, the finance minister of Bengal in February 2020. On 17th September 2020 Thursday, Moloy Ghatakstate labour minister announced this scheme. The tabling of this scheme has been made in this state budget for the current financial year 2020-2021. Under WB Chaa Sundari Scheme the state government will build 792 houses for the tea workers’ families who dwell in this tea estate. Ghatak said that during the next three years state will give the funds for the construction of houses.
Implementations Of the Chaa Sundari Scheme
There are 3 lakh, permanent workers, on rolls in the 370 tea gardens in the State. Almost 50 percent are women and a majority belong to scheduled tribe communities. State Government is already giving rice at Rs 2 per kg, free electricity, health benefits, mid-day meals for their school-going children, and many other benefits to them. Many of them do not have their own house. So, the WB government took the initiative and launched the WB Chaa Sundari Housing Scheme. Yet the state government has not disclosed the date of implementation of this scheme.

Budget Of WB Chaa Sundari Scheme
The government is going to build houses for the permanent tea workers who are working on rolls in the tea gardens in the State and do not own houses. The State Government has allocated Rs 500 crores for this scheme in the financial year 2020-2021 for this purpose.
