The government of Assam is going to launch the Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme on 1st February 2021 to provide benefits to 4.3 state government employees. The request for a proposal to implement EHAS was recently published. It will cover the newly recruited Employee and their families too on an optional basis. About Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme
Under this scheme, the cashless treatment will be provided to the Beneficiaries such as the state government employees through the insurance company and a network of impaneled hospitals according to the instructions given by the government of the state. Around 4.3 lakh government employees will be benefited under this scheme. Along with them, the state government Pensioner is allowed to join the scheme too on an optional basis, if they face any requirement. The packages under Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme 2021 will be decided by an expert committee constituted by the department of health and family welfare. This scheme will cover pre-existing diseases following the present also such as Covid-19.

Objective Of Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme
In order to save the government employees from diseases like fever, cold, Covid 19, and others the government of Assam is going to launch the Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme. The main objective of this scheme is to give cashless treatment to government employees. Along with them, the state government Pensioner is also allowed to join the schemes in the future on an optional basis. The other main objective of this scheme is to provide various types of packages that include transplant surgeries also in order to save the Government employees from the big diseases.
Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme Premium
The insurance amount of this scheme will be paid by the Assam government on behalf of employees and pensioners who are included under this scheme. As I told you above around 4.3 lacs State Government employees will be benefited under this scheme and along with this, the government pensioner may also be allowed to join Employee Health Insurance Scheme in the future on an optional basis. This scheme will give employees the cashless treatment facility and the payment will be given by an insurance company or the network of impaneled hospitals decided by the government.
Packages Under Employee Health Assurance Scheme
The two types of packages have been finalized by the expert committee constituted by the Department of Health and Family welfare under the Employee Health Insurance Scheme. These packages will cover pre-existing diseases of the employees. The two types of benefits package under employee Health Insurance schemes are given Below
Basic Benefit Package
The basic benefit package includes procedure cost, implant cost, and room charges. The insurance will pay all the expenses cause as specified according to the packages received by the beneficiaries during the treatment as per the medical-surgical and Day Care procedures.
Additional Benefits Packages
The additional benefit packages will be provided with insurance coverage and above original coverage for the specified diseases. This package includes all the diseases from day one and the beneficiaries will not be required to wait for the treatment.
Unspecified Procedures Under Assam Employee Health Assurance Scheme
This scheme will also cover unspecified procedures. The coverage of these procedures is based on a pre-authorization process initiated by the insurance company and the authority. it will be limited to rupees 3 lakh per year during the block Period of the Year
Covid-19 Coverage Under EHAS
Covid-19 will also be covered under this scheme based on regulatory provisions issued by IRDA from time to time. Right now the treatment for Assam Government employees and their families is covered under medical attendance rules 2018.
