Because the whole world is suffering from the COVID-19 crisis the government of Gujarat has decided to provide free food grains to the cardholders under Gujarat Anna Brahma Yojana. A total of 3.25 crore people will get benefit under this scheme.

Objectives Of Gujarat Ration Card

  • The main objective of Gujarat Ration Card Scheme as announced by Government of Gujarat is to provide food grains at a subsidised price to the poor people of Gujarat and to provide ration to migrant people free of cost

Benefits Of Gujarat Ration Card

The benefits of Gujarat Ration Card launched by the Government of Gujarat are as follows:-

  • To provide ration at subsidized rate
  • provide free ration to all the migrants from other state
  • To provide Rs 1000 to below poverty line families
  • Rs 1.50 of electricity duty on 50 units are charged from below poverty line families
  • Rs 30 to 35 crores are allotted to gaushalas as and cattle ponds

Documents Required To Register for Gujarat Ration Card

Identity Proof the following documents can be submitted as an identity proof-

  • A valid copy of Voter/Election Card 
  • A valid copy of PAN Card 
  • Driving License 
  • A valid copy of Passport 
  • Any Government document with citizen photo
  • Government Photo ID or service photo ID issued by PSU
  • Photo ID issued by Recognized Educational Institution
  • A valid copy of the Aadhaar card/ Election card (in case of slums)          

Residence Proof  the following documents can be submitted as a residence proof-

  • A valid copy of Voter/Election Card
  • valid copy of Electricity Bill
  • A valid copy of Telephone Bill
  • Driving License 
  • Water bill (not older than 3 months
  • A valid copy of Passport 
  • First Page of Bank Pass-Book/Cancelled Cheque
  • Post Office Account Passbook/Statement 
  • A valid copy of property card  
  • Government Photo ID cards/ service photo identity card issued by PSU
  • Receipt of property tax      
  • In the case of ownership Aakhani Petrak  
  • The consent of the building and evidence of property ownership (in case of a lease rental agreements)     

Service Attachment Proof  the following documents can be submitted as a Service Attachment Proof-

  • A copy of sub-registrar Index No. 2
  • Power of attorney letter (if applicable)
  • Certified copy of Will 
  • A copy of probate obtained on the bases of Will
  • Receipt of Revenue / Mahesul 
  • Notarised Succession genealogy 
  • True Copy of Election Card

Eligibility Criteria to Apply fot Gujarat Ration Card

  • The candidate must be a permanent citizen of Gujarat
  • The candidate must not have an active ration card
  • If the old ration card is stolen or expired then only the candidate is eligible to apply for a new ration card
  • Newly couples can also apply for ration card
