About Swasthya Sathi Scheme
Under Swasthya Sathi Scheme, the government of West Bengal will distribute secondary and tertiary care of Rs. 5 lakh insurance to each family of the entire state. It is like a smart card that is being issued in the name of a female family member announced by the CM of West Bengal. The decision will be applicable from 1st December 2020 and all people irrespective of their religious affiliation, caste creed, and profession will be covered under this scheme. CM said that around 7.5 crore people were added under the Swasthya Sathi scheme, now it has been to give benefits to every person including children, old men women, or any religion.

Rate Concerned Under Swasthya Sathi Scheme
The first meeting has been held between the representatives of the private hospital and the health officials on the matter of rates for treatment under the Swasthya Sathi scheme. With a fruitful and positive meeting, it is clear that Swasthya Sathi Health Care will provide treatment at very low rates with upgraded infrastructure and equipment. Along with that, the officials have also said that no patient will be refused. Currently, Private hospitals under this scheme will be having 5% patience. Another request has been made by the hospitals that no payment should remain outstanding for months

Objective Of the Swasthya Sathi Scheme
As we all know West Bengal is battling an outbreak of COVID-19 and the record of the past 24 hours has 52 deaths. Given this, CM Mamata Banerjee has launched the Swasthya Sathi Scheme. Under this scheme, the 5 lakh insurance will be provided to every family in the entire state so that they will be able to take care of their health and take immediate action if battling with any disease
Swasthya Sathi scheme’s latest update
On the first day of the scheme, it was observed that 60 to 70% of the visitors had applied for health Insurance under the Swasthya Sathi scheme. On the first day of this scheme around 1.25 lakh people visited 20,000 camps all over the state and yet the final report is to be compiled from the data that suggests that the number of visitors did not drop to a single on the second day. More and more people are visiting the camps showing interest in the Swasthya Sathi scheme.
Number Of People
On Tuesday around 7,711 people visited the camp and applied for the Swasthya Sathi scheme in Birbhum, and around 3600, out of 6000 people visited the camp at Bankura. This figure shows that people are interested in the scheme and the government is quite happy about it. The chief minister has announced that the remaining 2.5 crore people in the state will be included under this scheme. The government has instructed to issue health Insurance cards to those who are applying under this scheme and the required equipment such as a biometric scanner will also be installed at the camp so that card issuance occurs soon.
Self-help Groups
The government has also ordered the district administration to set up self-help group stalls at duare Sarkar camp where they can sell their product. It would also help women to do earning also. Moushumi Mukherjee, the head of the self-help group said that my team sold homemade food and ornaments worth Rs 1000. And now we will visit the other camps in Bolpur town.

Smart Card Issuance
Under the Swasthya Sathi Scheme, the smart card will be provided to the families of the state. The card will contain every detail of the family member, including photographs, biometrics, address, mobile number, and SECC ID. Each family will be provided with one card and with the help of this card each person will avail of the benefit whether the person is a child, an old man, or a woman. The card will be given to respective hospitals for the treatment so that the people will able to receive treatment without any fraud.
Outbreak Of COVID-19 in West Bengal
As we told you above in the past 24 hours the state has recorded 52 deaths due to covid-19. Now the state has recorded 3,507 cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The total number of COVID-19 cases has increased to 4,70,498. The government of West Bengal has launched the Swasthya Sathi scheme for all the families belonging to the state. The main aim is to provide health insurance of Rs. 5 lakh to the entire state for the treatment of those suffering from COVID-19
