Types Of Ration Card

There are four types of ration card which are present for the residents of the Tamil Nadu state. All of them are explained below:-

  • Light Green cards- It issues rice and different products from the Fair Price Shops (FPS). It additionally incorporates Antodaya Ann Yojna cardholders
  • White cards- It issues extra 3kg sugar over the recommended standard.
  • No product card- It is not qualified to draw any ware from apportioning shops

Conversion Of Sugar Card Into Rice Card

Tamil Nadu has 5,80,298 ration card holders. Out of which some of them want the government to convert their sugar ration card into rice ration card. and the Government of Tamilnadu has granted their request by giving the permission to convert there sugar ration card into rice ration card. the citizens who wants to convert their ration card will have to follow the procedure given below

  • Ration card holders are required to download the application form from the official website
  • After downloading the form they need to submit the form to local officials between 5 December 2020 to 20 December 2020.
  • They also need to attach all the required documents along with a photocopy of the existing ration card.

During November 2019 the government has granted the same opportunities to convert their ration card. Large number of ration card holders had submitted an application to convert their cards.

  • First of all, you have to visit your nearest ration shop or any public distribution system office.
  • You will have to ask them about the application form for smart ration card.
  • The PDF of ration card is also available at the official website you can download it from there.
  • Make sure that you carry the following documents with you-
