About Open Government Data Portal 2023

“Open Government Data Portal” as the name says it is a portal that provides data sharing, which is used by the Government of India, Ministries or Departments to publish their data, documents, service, tools and applications for public use. The portal will contain all the data of even common people. There are 2 columns which say Negative Data sites or Open DAta Sites. In open data sites all the general information is available and under negative data sites there will be the personnel information of the public which include their Email, Password, Mobile number, etc. Which is not accessible by other public. The data uploaded under the portal will be managed by the concerned authority to check its accuracy and correction. Users can use their own data by creating visualisation, through OGD visualisation search engine.

The main purpose of Open Government Data Portal is to provide the shearable data and information to the common people for their use. Benefits and Features of Open Government Data Portal

• The data, documents, services and tools uploaded under the portal are managed by the Project Management Unit.
• The Ministry, Department, or State contributes or publishes resources in open format (CSV, XLS, XML, ODS, JASON) either directly or via Web Services using a workflow-based Data Management System.
• If you have any doubt concerning the information provided under the OGD Portal or the obligations that go along with them, they can convey their concern directly to the Chief Data Officer (provider), formerly known as the Data Controller.
• Communities and individuals can submit suggestions and data requests to assist ministries and departments in prioritising data sharing. Support for previously submitted ideas is open to everybody.
• Application Programming Interfaces, often known as APIs, are used by the users to query datasets. People can use these APIs to retrieve specific datasets’ data items directly and dynamically which they want. 
• By using the portal users can make a visualisation map or charts to get the relatable information in the form of: Radar, bar, line, area, pie, and column charts.
• The data uploaded under the portal will be managed by the concerned authority to check its accuracy and correction. Users can use their own data by creating visualisation, through OGD visualisation search engine.

Procedure to Apply Online under the Portal 2023

• Applicants first need to visit the Open Government Portal website of Open Government Data Portal.

• The homepage will appear on your screen.
• Here you have to click on the Register button.

• Now registration page will display on your screen, where you have to enter the following details:
  • Name
  • Email id
  • Contact Number
  • Country
  • Date of Birth
  • State
• After filling all these details you have to click in the submit button to complete the process.

• Applicants first need to visit the official website of Open Government Data Portal.
• The homepage will appear on your screen.
• Here you have to click on the Login button.

• Now the login page will be on your screen.
• Enter your Email Id and Password, then click on the Login button.
• After filling all these details you will successfully log in under the portal.
