WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme Payment Status
The government of West Bengal has created the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme to provide basic income support to the woman head of the family. On 1st September 2021, the state finance department started the direct benefit transfer of financial assistance under the WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme. The women head from the general category receive monthly assistance of Rs 500 and women from the SC-ST category receive Rs. 1000 in their respective bank accounts. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that 30 lakh applications have been received for this scheme within 3 days. Out of total applications, 70% of applications received were for the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme.

Budget Of WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme
All know that the government of West Bengal has created a new scheme known as the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme to provide financial support to the women heads of families. This scheme was a part of the election manifesto of the Trinamool Congress. For the successful implementation of the WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme, the Government of India has allocated a budget of Rs. 12900. Also, the database has been prepared by the government for around 33 lakh eligible beneficiaries from other social security schemes. This scheme will help in improving the economy of the state.
Beneficiaries Will Get Financial Assistance From 1st September 2021
To provide financial support, the Government of the state has created a new scheme known as WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme. Guidelines Of WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme
The guidelines by the Department of women and Child Development and the Social Welfare Department are as follows:-
- The officials of West Bengal have to manage the crowd at the government camp amid the situation of covid-19 pandemic.
- Families who have at least one tax-paying member cannot apply under this scheme. Also, women who have more than 2 hectares of land cannot apply.
- The amount under WB Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme will start on 1st September 2021.
- The application form under the scheme will be available at government camps which will be held across the state.
- The officials will accept the form from 16 August to 15 September
- The benefit amount will directly be transferred into the bank account of the beneficiaries.
- Beneficiaries must have an Aadhaar number linked with a bank account.
- An applicant whose age is between 25 to 60 years is eligible to apply. Except those who have permanent jobs in private or government sectors.
