Odisha Ashirwad Yojana:- Many children have lost their parents due to the devastating coronavirus pandemic which is going on in the country and today we will be sharing with all of you all the latest schemes which will help the orphans who have recently lost their parents due to covid-19. The Government of Odisha has started an initiative to help the children who have lost their parents to the coronavirus. About Odisha Ashirwad Yojana 2024

The Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik has recently created the Aashirwad scheme on the occasion of Father’s Day which was observed on Sunday. Under this newly launched Odisha Ashirwad Yojana, the Chief Minister has announced a monthly allowance of Rupees 2500 for the helpless and orphan children currently residing in Odisha state. The children who have recently lost their parents will be provided with monthly allowances of Rupees 2500. The monthly allowance will be provided to the candidates till they reach the age of 18 years. Only the children who have lost their parents on or after 1st April 2020 will be included in this scheme.

Objective Of The Scheme

The main objectives of Odisha Ashirwad Yojana are as follows

  • The main objective of the scheme is to help the children so that they can pursue their education and carry on their lives after the loss of their parents.
  • Medical facilities will also be provided to the beneficiaries under this scheme.
  • Health insurance plans will also be available to the beneficiaries.
  • The children are automatically present in the Biju Health Welfare Scheme and the National Or State Food Security Plan.
  • Education will be provided to the children in Kendra Vidyalaya under the Right to Education Act.
  • Children will also be eligible to take part in the Green Passage Scheme to pursue higher education.
  • Accommodation and other benefits will be provided to the beneficiaries.

Implementation Procedure

The following implementation procedure will be taken into consideration to implement the scheme:-

  • The list of children is preparing through the district child protection unit, childline, Panchayat and block-level committee, frontline workers, and civil society.
  • The eligible children can also apply directly to the District Child Protection Unit with the death certificate so that they can be covered under this scheme.

Benefits Of The Scheme

Many benefits will be provided to the beneficiaries under Odisha Ashirwad Yojana You can check out the list of benefits available to the beneficiaries given below:-

  • The allowances under the scheme will be electronically deposited into the accounts of the relatives of the children every month.
  • The allowance will transfer electronically to the bank account of beneficiaries
  • Financial assistance will be provided till the child attains the age of 18 years.
  • The financial assistance would be discontinued if anyone adopts the child before they attain the age of 18 years.
  • The children will get free treatment under the Health insurance Scheme of the Odisha Government and they will be also covered under the national or state Food Security Scheme. 
  • The children can pursue their education even after the death of their parents because incentives will be provided under the Right To Education act by the Government of Odisha.
  • Accommodation will be provided to the beneficiaries.
  • The beneficiaries will be provided with a chance to study in Adarsh Vidyalaya Or Kendriya Vidyalaya of the state.
  • Candidates can also pursue higher education through the benefit of the Green Passage Yojana
  • Houses will also be provided under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and also Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana.
  • These steps will protect the privacy of the property of children.
  • 2500 Rupees will be provided every month into the bank accounts till the child attains the age of 18 years.
  • Child care homes are also available under Odisha Ashirwad Yojana to help the children free of cost.
  • If the beneficiary is staying with one of his parents then Rupees 1500 will be provided.
  • Widow pension will be provided to the widows under this scheme.
Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the scheme you will have to follow the following eligibility criteria:-

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha state.
  • An applicant must have lost at least one of his or her parents to coronavirus.
  • The applicant must have lost his or her parents on or after 1st April 2020.
  • Applicants must have a valid death certificate.

Application Procedure Under Odisha Ashirwad Yojana

There is no application procedure to apply for the scheme because the list of beneficiaries will be directly made by the committee of the District Child Protection Unit. If you are interested in Odisha Ashirwad Yojana then you can also directly apply with your Parents’ Death Certificate to the committee of the District Child Protection Unit.
